Our History

“Historic headquarters of Autodistribution during its creation.”
The origins of PHE date back to 1962 with the creation of Autodistribution.
Seven independent distributors then decided to create a purchasing center for automobile spare parts in France.
Over the years, Autodistribution has structured itself and welcomed both subsidiary distributors and independent distributors.

In 1985, Autodistribution laid the foundations of a new model by inaugurating a first independent multi-brand repair network with the brands AD Pro (mechanics) and AD Top (bodywork). Distributors then develop a relationship of trust with their repair customers.

In 2006, Autodistribution acquired Cora, a specialist in body parts.

2010 marks an important step for Autodistribution with the creation of new governance bringing together subsidiary and independent distributors. This unique governance makes it possible to involve distributors in the company's strategic decisions.

In 2014, Autodistribution's growth continued with the acquisition of ACR, specialized in mechanical and technical parts.

The Group is beginning its digital transformation with the launch of idgarages.com and ad.fr.

The Group is internationalizing with the acquisition of Doyen in Belgium then the establishment in Italy in 2017, in the Netherlands in 2018, in Spain in 2019 and in Ireland in 2025.

PHE is today a leader in the independent distribution of spare parts for light and heavy vehicles in Western Europe. The Group has also been operating in the BtoC market with Oscaro since 2018.

In 2024, the group achieved sales of over 2.7 billion euros, 1/3 of which was outside France.
Today, it has over 10,000 employees (2025 figure).
